Exterior Upgrades

Lighting, storage, and aesthetics:

On the roof we installed a couple Radius Outfitters Sprinter Cross Bars to easily mount the solar panels. Since we used the spare tire location for our fresh water tank, we moved the spare to the back door with the Owl rear door carrier. We also installed Owl’s Sprinter side steps for a mean look and an easier entry.

This one also got a fair bit of exterior lighting for security, safety on the road, and functional light at camp. On the grille we installed a couple of LR-750 Elite lights with this Sprinter specific mounting kit for aftermarket lights with a factory clean feel. We also replaced the factory Sprinter fog lights with this Amber Baja Fog Light kit. Above the front doors and on the top of the back doors we installed (4) Rigid Scene lights to easily light up all sides of the van. All of the lights (as well as a few additional accessories) are controlled with an 8 gang Auxbeam RGB Switch panel mounted on the headliner above the driver seat. We prewired for some future upgrades and left a few open switches for future lights/gear expansion. It’s good to keep the options open.

Finally, because this van serves as a work vehicle in between road trips it needed all the comforts and connectivity of modern life wherever the road may take it. We installed a Drive Reach OTR Mobile Signal Booster Kit on the roof to stay connected in remote areas. We also mounted a Starlink Standard to the roof next to the fan with one of these magetic mounts. Inside and underneath the upper kitchen cabinet we attached the router and power supply with this kit.
