Cabinetry, Layout and Interior Design
The parts we used and how it all came together:
The cabinetry layout in the Full Circle van was designed to be a comfortable and functional camper when needed, and a mobile office on wheels for comfort on the job site. The huge flip down TV serves as a mobile theatre during camping trips, but also doubles as a workstation for our customer who spends a lot of time visiting job sites for his work. The Lagun table mount allows functional workspace when needed but stores away cleanly to open up space for relaxing.
We used lightweight Luan plywood (sourced from Austin Hardwoods here in Denver) and laminated everything with Wilsonart Matte Black laminate. We used a bit of Baltic Birch plywood for the cabinet doors. It’s heavier weight, but it holds its shape better for the doors and unsupported parts of the cabinets. All the plywood edges were finished with matching edgebanding for a seamless finished look.
We installed a large Recpro 4.4 Cubic Ft. 12v Stainless Steel Refrigerator into the rear kitchen area and stacked a GE Air Fry Countertop Convection Microwave in the cabinet above it.
The rest of the layout maximized storage. We added cubbies of storage in the bench seats around the installed systems We always use Blum Undermount Drawer Glides in our vans - the drawer in the galley was 18” deep.
We didn’t install a cooktop in the countertop for this customer, but we included outlets above the galley to use an induction cooktop stored in the drawer below the counter. Below the sink we installed a Laveo Dry Flush toilet hard wired into the battery system for easy use.
